Poland – Czech Republic - Hungary Poland is a Central European country that has been formed and split many times historically. It shares land borders with seven neighbors: Germany, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine and Russia. Poland with its capital at Warsaw is a member of the European Union. The country attracts tourists with its history, culture and natural beauty. The Czech Republic (also known as Czechia) with its capital at Prague was formed in 1993 after the split of Czechoslovakia and is a member of the European Union and is economically advanced. It’s a landlocked country with renowned for its rich history, many castles including the Prague castle and stunning countryside with beautiful towns and villages. Hungary in Central Europe had its boundaries redrawn several times and a history of occupation and liberation during the World Wars and before. Hungary’s capital Budapest is split into two – Buda and Pest by the river Danube and has the famous Hungarian Parliament building on the banks of river Danube. Budapest has several natural thermal hot springs and baths. The country has a unique language and culture which is different from rest of Europe. It shares borders with Austria, Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania, Croatia and Slovenia.

  • Day trip from Prague or spend a couple of days at Karlovy Vary – Known for its thermal Springs, you can drink the unique mineral water from various springs, especially the powerful Vřídlo (Hot Spring), stroll through the colonnades and the taste the water from the springs, Ride the funicular or hike up to the Diana Lookout Tower for panoramic town views, visit the Jan Becher Museum and learn about the famous Becherovka herbal liqueur and do visit the Moser Glassworks: Tour the museum and see famous Bohemian crystal being made.

  • Do not rush through these countries and cities. Give yourself time to explore and experience the unique cultures
  • Carry clothes based on weather and do layer up. 
  • Remember that the currencies are different in different countries and exchange as per need from local authorized currency exchange counters
  • These countries have rail connectivity and travelling by train is a good way to see the countryside too
  • Generally considered safe cities but be careful in crowded places
  • Most of the cities and towns are best explored on foot
